Candidates rejected before an initial call
📧 Outbound
Dover will send a rejection email to the candidate 24 hours after they are rejected.
If there is a clear reason for the rejection such as a candidate’s desired compensation does not match the role or they are interested in part-time work but the role is full-time or visa sponsorship would be required but cannot be accommodated, the rejection email will include those reasons. If other candidates are in late stages, if the role is paused, or if the role is filled, we will notify candidates.
📬 Inbound
By default, candidates will not be sent a rejection note.
💡 Please notify Dover Support or your Customer Experience Partner if you would like inbound applicants to receive rejection emails. If enabled, Dover will send a rejection email to the candidate 24 hours after rejection.

If you use End to End Scheduling...
Dover will send a rejection note 24 hours after the candidate is rejected.
If you do not use End to End Scheduling...
you are responsible for following up with the candidate.
Please notify your Customer Experience Partner if you would like to use End to End Scheduling for any of your jobs.
Candidates rejected after Second Interview, but before Onsite (only applies to End to End Scheduling)
After rejecting candidate in Slack...
Dover will send a rejection email to candidates 24 hours after they are rejected.
After selecting "I will manage next steps"...
Dover will not take any more action with the candidate. You are responsible for sending the rejection email.
Candidates rejected after Onsite (only applies when utilizing End to End Scheduling)
If the onsite is the final step of your interview plan...
Dover will not send a rejection note at this stage. Your team should send a personalized rejection note for candidates who have made it this far in the process since you have more insight into why they were rejected.
If there are additional steps in your interview plan after the Onsite
After you reject the candidate in Slack...
Dover will send a rejection email to candidates 24 hours after they are rejected.
After selecting "I will manage next steps"...
Dover will not take any more action with the candidate. You are responsible for sending the rejection email.
