How to Deactivate a Job:

  1. In the Dover App, click on the job you’d like to deactivate.

  2. Click the Job Status dropdown on the upper right corner and select Deactivate Job

  3. Select why you want to deactivate the job from the dropdown menu

  4. Select which candidates you would like Dover to send rejection emails to.

  5. Click Deactivate.

Please note that Dover will not cancel scheduled calendar events except for Dover Interviewer events. Please make sure that your team's interviewers cancel calendar events with an explanatory note or wait to cancel the interviews until after the rejection emails are sent.

What happens when I deactivate a job?

How Dover handles the deactivation process depends on your deactivation reason. Don't see the right Deactivation reason? Reach out to your Embedded Recruiter to explore the options that are available for you!

🎉 I Made a Hire

Congrats on making a hire! 🎉

Please make sure to close out active candidates in your pipeline. Dover can send rejection notes to those candidates if you select them during the deactivation process. Dover will let those candidates know that the role has been filled. For any candidates who are not selected during deactivation, you will be responsible for letting them know that the role has been filled. Please cancel all scheduled interviews.

Dover will handle the following:

  1. Dover will no longer send new outreach to qualified candidates.

  2. Dover will stop sending scheduling reminders for candidates currently in the process.

  3. If you have the job posted through Dover via any of our supported job boards, Dover will deactivate the job posts.

  4. Candidates responding to past outreach will still be sent to Slack, but Dover will let these candidates know that the role has been filled.

  5. If you're using Dover Interviewer, all calls will be canceled and candidates will be told that the position is filled.
