Send rejection emails to inbound candidates rejected in Dover

💡 By default, Dover does not currently send rejection emails to rejected inbound candidates. However, Dover does offer the ability to enable a feature that will send rejection emails to inbound candidates whom you reject via Slack and the Dover app. If you would like to turn this capability on, please reach out to your Dover Support Team!

Automatically archive inbound candidates in your ATS


💡 This option is only applicable to customers who use an ATS. This option archives not only candidates who do not match the search criteria, but also candidates who are rejected in Slack.


When Dover screens candidates from your ATS and they pass the search criteria, we surface them in Slack. By default, Dover does not automatically archive candidates in Greenhouse or Lever. If you would like us to archive candidates in your Greenhouse or Lever who do not pass the search criteria, please follow the directions below.

Directions for Greenhouse and Lever:

  1. Go to Dover App

  2. Click on Settings for the desired job

  3. Go to the Job Boards tab

  4. Go to Channel Setup and click Configure

  5. Change Auto-reject setting to Yes, move all candidates who do not pass the criteria to the “Rejected” status in Lever/Greenhouse

  6. Click Save


📔 It is important to note that if you have automatic rejection emails turned on in your ATS, every candidate that does not pass the criteria will be archived and will receive a rejection email through your ATS. If you don’t want candidates to receive rejection emails after not passing the Dover criteria, then we recommend turning this feature off.


How to check if you have your ATS inbound integration turned on for each job:

  1. Go to Dover App

  2. Click on Settings for the desired job

  3. Go to the Job Boards tab

  4. Under ATS Configuration you should see ACTIVE

    1. If you do not see ACTIVE but would like Dover to screen candidates who apply through your ATS, please contact Dover Customer Support

How to check for/turn off automatic rejection in your Lever

  1. Make sure you have Super Admin access in your Lever

  2. Review your current work flow - Lever document for Enabling, disabling, and deleting automation workflows

  1. Check to see if you are on either the Advanced or Expert tier
