🗓️ Connect your calendar
If you are using Dover to help with scheduling candidates, you will need to connect your calendar. Dover will generate a unique scheduling link based on the availability indicated in your interview settings. Dover will respect all scheduled events that are marked as “Busy” on your calendar to prevent any scheduling conflicts.
ℹ️ When connecting your calendar, please make sure that you select all of the boxes when you are submitting your authorization. This enables Dover to create the interview events on your designated calendar. These permissions are the standard permissions Google requires all scheduling tools to obtain. Granting permissions will allow Dover to create and edit calendar events for candidate interviews. Dover has been thoroughly audited by Google and is compliant.
❇️ If you will be unavailable or OOO on certain days, all you need to do is set up a DNS event marked as “Busy” on that calendar and Dover will respect that availability.
📆 Set Your Scheduling Preference
Tell Dover if you will be handling scheduling yourself with a third party link, if you'd like Dover to schedule candidates for you or if you'd prefer to not offer any scheduling assistance to candidates.

📞 Set your interview preferences
Once you've connected your calendar, select where you will conduct interviews: Google Meet, Zoom, Whereby, or Phone Call. This will be the same for all your interviews.
Set the days and times that you’re available for interviews. Remember to select your time zone!
List the all calendars that you’d like Dover to check to avoid double booking. ⚠️ Please remember to add holidays as "busy" blocks to your calendar so that candidates cannot book time with you on holidays.
(optional) Indicate how much time you want as a buffer between interviews. This can be set to zero if you don’t want any buffer before and after each interview.
(optional) Set the maximum number of interviews that can be scheduled per day.
(optional) Indicate how soon a candidate can book an interview after being approved for an interview

Candidates will not be able to book a time during times that are marked as busy, outside of your availability preferences, or during your interview "buffer" times. To open up availability, please limit your buffer times, increase your available hours, and decrease calendar events marked as "busy".
📆 Subscribe to a Personal Calendar (optional)
If a personal calendar is missing, you can subscribe to it from your work email.
While logged into your personal account, open Google Calendar. You can’t share calendars from the Google Calendar app.
On the left, find the "My calendars” section. To expand it, click the Down arrow.
Hover over the calendar you want to share, and click the three dots —
Settings and sharing.
Under “Share with specific people,” click Add people.
Add the email address of the account you want to share your calendar with ex: [email protected]. Use the drop-down menu to adjust their permission settings. Learn more about access permissions.
Click Send.
You will need to click the emailed link to add the calendar to your list.
Add a scheduling buffer before and after interviews. Select 0 min to maximize availability.
Click Save

Advance notice
By default, we require 24 hours advanced notice before candidates can book time with you.
Meeting Buffers
We have a 15 min buffer between meetings by default. We recommend setting buffers to zero to maximize your availability. However, if you have very limited time available to interview, we recommend removing the buffers to optimize for availability.
Max number of interviews per day
Set the maximum number of interviews that can be booked per day
Custom confirmation email
We don't support customizing the confirmation email, however, we do support customizing your scheduling email to a candidate.
Back up phone number
All our booking links will include a phone number as a backup (even if you're using Zoom or Google Meet). This helps to reduce the need to reschedule due to technical difficulties.

Rescheduling & Cancellation
Candidates have the ability to reschedule and cancel bookings (just like Calendly, Meetingbird etc) right from the calendar invite. The interviewer can also reschedule an interview.
Security & Permissions
Dover uses the Google Calendar API to read events from your calendar. Google calendar does not provide more granular permissions than that (e.g. reading from a single calendar is not supported). Dover only queries your free/busy availability and events that relate to active Dover candidates.

Dover does not delete events on your calendar. Unfortunately, we can't request more limited scopes at this time due to Google's limitations.

Dover can view all the calendars that you are subscribed to, including coworkers' calendars if you are connected with them.

This is by design — so we can track when Dover candidates have meetings on a "Hiring" calendar, or reach late-stage interviews. Dover uses Google Calendar API to provide this functionality.

This is due to your company email account permissions. If you cannot select Google Meet we suggest reaching out to your IT department or your GSuite Admin and see if granting your team access to Google Meet is possible.
