What is Dover's Recruiting Marketplace?

The Dover Recruiting Marketplace connects startups with pre-vetted fractional recruiters who specialize in startup hiring. Our marketplace features the top 2% of recruiters who have proven experience sourcing and placing candidates at fast-growing companies. Each recruiter brings industry-specific expertise and a track record of successful placements, allowing you to quickly find the right recruiting partner without lengthy vetting processes.


How to join the Dover Recruiting marketplace

  1. Go to the https://app.dover.com/marketplace/recruiters and click Access Marketplace

  2. Add a refundable $800 deposit to get instant access to all our recruiter profiles

  3. Schedule free intro calls with as many recruiters as you want


How to work with a recruiter

View recruiter profiles

  1. Navigate to View Marketplace (https://app.dover.com/marketplace/recruiters) to explore available recruiters.

  2. Use the filter options to narrow by services, hours available, roles, locations, and industries.

  3. Review recruiter profiles including their rates, reviews, years of experience, recent hires, and services offered.

Recruiting Partners are senior recruiters with startup hiring experience. Book as many free intro calls as you'd like to find the right fit.

Associate Recruiters help with specific tasks like sourcing, scheduling, and more on an hourly basis. They provide additional support to keep your costs down.

Meet recruiters

  1. Navigate to View Marketplace (https://app.dover.com/marketplace/recruiters) to explore available recruiters.

  2. Click View profile on any recruiter's profile.

  3. Select Schedule to book a free matching call*

  4. During the matching call, discuss your hiring needs, the recruiter's experience, and alignment with your goals.

Match with recruiter(s)

Both clients and recruiters can submit an offer to work together that include the terms / costs of the agreement (hourly, weekly, etc)

How to accept an offer from a recruiter:

When recruiters submit an offer to work with you, you can review their offer and either accept of reject it.

  1. If you have a pending offer, it will appear in the Matching Calls section

    1. if you do not see your offer, make sure the Filter by Stage if for All Stages

  2. Click Review Offer

    1. Review all the terms of the offer carefully including rate and rate frequency

      1. If you are doing a contingency or retained agreement, please review all the terms very carefully.

  3. Click Approve Offer or Reject Offer

How to make an offer to a recruiter:

  1. Click Make Offer with any recruiter(s) you want to work

  2. Add the Rate and Rate Frequency (Hourly, Weekly, Monthly, One time).

    1. (Optional) Add success fee

      1. Choose Percent Fee (% of the candidate's first year base salary or Fixed fee) or Fixed Fee (paid upon the candidate accepting the offer)

      2. Add Guarantee type (None, Replace candidate, Prorated refund, Replace candidate or prorated refund) and Guarantee Duration (None, 30 day, 60 day, 90 day)

  3. (Optional) Add Additional Offer Details

  4. Click Submit Offer


Working with recruiters

How to manage your active recruiters

  1. See all the Recruiting Partners and Associate Recruiter that you are currently working with

  2. Click Manage Recruiter on a recruiter profile. Below are the actions you can take:

    1. Set Budget - set a weekly or monthly budget for that recruiter. You will receive an email notification when the budget is 75% reached or has been hit. Please note that recruiters are able to bill more than their budget. You must dismiss them to stop future billing.

    2. Dismiss Recruiter - if you no longer wish to work with that recruiter, you can dismiss them. Dismissed recruiters can no longer bill for their work.

    3. Request Refund - submit a form to request a refund

Track recruiter work and charges

  1. Navigate to Usage and Billing (https://app.dover.com/marketplace/billing) to monitor all recruiter activity and charges.

  2. Review bill rates for each recruiter and budgets you've set.

  3. Check detailed charges for work completed and receipts for all invoices.

  4. Track spending regularly to ensure recruiting work aligns with your budget expectations.

Remove a recruiter

  1. Click Manage Recruiter on the recruiter profile and select Dismiss Recruiter

  2. The recruiter will be removed from your account and will lose all access to your Dover instance. They will no longer be able to bill your account

  3. You will receive a confirmation email that they have been removed from your account.


How to leave the Dover Recruiting Marketplace

  1. Click Leave the Marketplace

    1. In order to leave the marketplace, first you must dismiss all matched recruiters: https://app.dover.com/marketplace/my-recruiters

  2. A refund will be processed for any remaining unused deposit balance within 1 business day.*

    *Stripe and your bank may take 5-10 business days to complete the transaction

What types of roles can Dover recruiters help fill?

Dover recruiters specialize in a wide range of roles including engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and executive positions specifically for startups and fast-growing companies.

How are recruiters vetted for the marketplace?

All recruiters go through a rigorous vetting process including portfolio review, reference checks, and performance metrics evaluation to ensure only the top 2% join our marketplace.

What happens to my deposit if I don't find a suitable recruiter?

Your $800 deposit is fully refundable. If you don't find a suitable recruiter or decide to leave the marketplace, you can request a full refund of any unused balance at any time.

How many matching calls can I schedule?

You can schedule as many free matching calls as you need. There's no limit to help you find the right recruiter for your needs.

Can I work with multiple recruiters simultaneously?

Yes, you can engage with multiple recruiters at once for different roles or to compare approaches. You have full flexibility in how you use the marketplace.

How quickly can a recruiter start working on my roles?

Most recruiters can begin working on your roles within 24-48 hours after your initial conversation, depending on the complexity of your requirements.

When do I get charged for recruiter work?

You're charged based on hours worked at their agreed hourly rate. All charges appear in your Usage and Billing dashboard. Billing is based on the specific offer agreement between you and the recruiter.

Can I set budget limits for recruiters?

Yes, you can set monthly budget limits for each recruiter in the My Recruiters dashboard to help manage costs.

What's the difference between Recruiting Partners and Associate Recruiters?

Recruiting Partners are senior recruiters who work on a cost-per-hire basis for full recruiting engagements. Associate Recruiters work hourly on specific tasks like sourcing and scheduling to provide additional support.

What happens to my data when I remove a recruiter?

When you remove a recruiter, they immediately lose all access to your Dover account and cannot view any candidate or company data. Your data remains secure in your account.
