How does the Slack integration work?

When a candidate replies as interested or is passively interested, we send them to Slack for your approval. Your options for taking action on the candidate will vary depending on your Dover plan.

No-contract plans & Growth

You'll see relevant info and links about the candidate to help you make your decision, including a link to their Dover profile to read the full content of their response. To approve or reject the candidate, click View reply.

This will open the candidate's profile in Dover so you can view their message and provide a response. Once you do this, you will be responsible for managing the candidate's interview process via the Dover App.

All other contract plans

You'll see relevant info and links about the candidate to help you make your decision, including a link to their Dover profile to read the full content of their response. Typically, you'll see two options here - Approve and Not Interested.

✅ Clicking Approve will send the candidate a scheduling email for a first round call. To change the interviewer for a candidate, select them from the dropdown to the left. If approved before 5pm PST, scheduling will go out to the candidate same day.

First round scheduling is handled manually by Dover, and we typically send out these emails within 1 hour of your decision. If you change your mind or make a mistake, please let Dover Support know in Slack or in the app!

❌ Clicking Not Interested will queue a polite rejection to go out 24 hours after your decision is made.

Occasionally, the options will be different, such as Respond & Advance or Move candidate - our action buttons are dynamic depending on if the candidate surfaced a question or indicated a desire to move to another role! If you're not seeing the option you'd like to take, click the overflow menu.

❓ What happens next?

As candidates move through your interview process, you'll get notifications in the Slack channel whenever their interview stage is updated. If your plan has Dover scheduling these later stages, you can advance them using the buttons in Slack at every interview stage up to the final interview!

❓ What's Dover Bot?

Dover Bot is our custom Slack integration! In addition to the candidate threads described above, Dover Bot may occasionally ping you, usually about candidate responses. You'll also be pinged with reminders to review candidates if they've been awaiting a response for more than 24 hours.
